Responsibilities

The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

 

• Using AutoCAD software for steel/concrete industrial structure design and heavy equipment supports design.
• Understand and follow project design process. Communicate with supervisor, project manager, and design lead about concerning progress or problems with an assigned task.
• Produce high-quality structural drawing package in AutoCAD 2D including design notes, steel structural framing plan, section/elevation views, and connection details, with minimum supervision.
• Locate, extract, and understand equipment and vendor information from manufacturing data. Prepare and cross check all project specific design information and structural design coefficients on drawings.
• Ensure the drawings meet all project requirements and deadlines.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, project managers and other disciplines from identifying work scope, drawing development, and design review to construction documentation.
Attending project kickoff, review and other coordination meetings.
• Interpret field measurement report to understand field as-build condition, identify design constraints and potential constructability issues on site to communicate to the design team.
• Assist or independently perform structural calculations or structural analysis depending on academic and professional background.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • An associate with 6 to 7 yrs experience.
  • Experience in US codes preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil engineering is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in design drawing production of steel and concrete structures using AutoCAD 2D.
  • Working knowledge in steel structural detailing, modeling, and cross-disciplinary coordination in Revit. (Revit experience is not required by a plus)
  • Must be held accountable for design work and eager to pick up new processes, skillsets, and challenging tasks to increase productivity and accelerate professional development.
  • Must be organized with high multi-tasking skill in a fast-paced working environment.
