Mechanical Designer

SSOE Group is currently seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team in Mumbai. This position will support both small and large-scale industrial projects using Plant3D or 2D AutoCad to provide value-based design for our world-class clients. As a part of an international design firm and working with a USA based team, you will have the unique opportunity to work on US based projects and communicate regularly with international colleagues.

An ideal candidate will have previous A/E experience and chemical plant P&ID experience as well as a passion for collaboration and teamwork. Due to the international team structure, the ability to communicate will be key to success.

The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

• Create new or update existing P&IDs as directed by engineer or design lead.
• Support deliverable creation activities such as annotating piping plans, sections, details as required by specific project.
• Model equipment using 3D modeling software.
• Resolve issues, coordinate / communicate with a multi-discipline design team.
• Learn new technology as needed.

• Mechanical / Piping Diploma course and upto 4 years of experience.
• Experience using AutoCAD or Plant3D for P&ID creation. MicroStation knowledge is not necessary, but desired.
• Solid working knowledge of P&IDs.
• Experience with 3D design is a plus. Revit knowledge is not necessary, but desired. 
• Attention to detail.
• Fluent in English communication.
• Should be flexible to work in the evening hours to maintain communication with the USA teams.
