Overview

We are looking to hire a Mechanical Designer (Tool Install) to our team, who will have the opportunity to participate in the design of state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities. He/she will working with other contributing design teams, and Sr. Project Managers to create and problem-solve exciting and complex designs that incorporate some of the latest design techniques, while ensuring that all specifications are met, and to ensure timely completion of projects.

Responsibilities

Design Tool Installation packages. Packages to include Architectural layouts, Schematics, Facility Data information, General Routing, and Details.

  • Create Schematic to show tool components (Fab / Subfab) full utilities (exhaust, water, process piping, BCDS, specialty gases).
  • Develop Fab / Subfab partial plans for mechanical routing and elevation details as required.
  • Create custom details as required or ensure latest client details are in the design packages.
  • For each Architectural layout:
    • Locate equipment position in drawing and provide dimensions, call out standard details as required.
  • Develop Schematics:
    • Create detailed mechanical schematics including sizing and material type for utilities (chemicals, drains, exhausts, water, high/low purity).
  • Generate Routing plans:
    • Create detailed Fab routing plans for utilities to the equipment.
  • Designer / Engineer will coordinate work with local designers / engineers.
  • Designer will answer RFI’s/ROD’s and update drawings for Record Drawings.
  • Perform appropriate calculations (as needed).
  • Coordinate needs and develop an understanding with other design disciplines (Electrical, Structural, Architectural) for design package needs.
  • May create a first of a kind design using supplier information.
  • Ensure quality control by complying with team design Drafting and CAD standards.
  • The Designer / Engineer will perform design as well as coach and develop other designers locally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical discipline from an accredited institute.
  • Minimum two (2) years to five (5) years related designer experience with former employer(s).
  • Hexagon / SP3D experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD 2D for drafting, Spooling for process piping, Navisworks for Model review and Coordination, mechanical equipment modelling in Revit for process piping industry and design applications required.
  • The ability to communicate digitally, verbally and in writing with local and international team members - fluency in English is required.
  • Work timings– Morning 08.00am to 12noon and evening 08.00pm to 12pm (midnight) - Subject to change as per the business needs.
  • Hybrid work environment (two days’ work from office and three days’ work from home).
