We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will engage in the design process of cutting-edge industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities for some of the world's leading high-tech enterprises. As a Mechanical Designer at SSOE, you will collaborate with fellow designers, engineering teams, and Senior Project Managers to develop innovative solutions for intricate and challenging designs, incorporating the latest design methodologies while ensuring adherence to specifications and timely project completion. 

Responsibilities

  • Produce comprehensive technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models aligning with project requirements and client expectations.
  • Lead the creation, refinement, and finalization of designs encompassing industrial and domestic piping, plumbing, HVAC ducting, chillers, boilers, exhaust systems, motor control, process chemicals, fire protection, and potentially other mechanical building systems.
  • Design heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to maintain precise environmental conditions that include specific materials, specifications, and/or implement measures to control factors like temperature, humidity, air filtration, particle levels, etc.
  • Apply established design techniques, exercising judgment to adapt and modify design concepts while ensuring compliance with company and team CAD standards for quality control.
  • Collaborate closely with design teams, Engineers, Project Managers, and stakeholders to address specific objectives, complex features, and propose viable solutions to unique challenges.
  • Facilitate seamless coordination among various design disciplines (Electrical, Structural, Process / Chemical, Architectural, etc.) to fulfill design package requirements.

Qualifications

What You Will Bring:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum seven (7) years to ten (10) years related designer experience with former employer(s).
  • Good Communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Hexagon / SP3D experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience with designs that contain HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, pump hydraulics, exhaust, process chemicals, wastewater discharge, or other similar mechanical building systems.
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD 2D for drafting, spooling for process piping, Navisworks for Model review and Coordination, mechanical equipment modelling in Revit for process piping industry and design applications required.
  • Should be able to work for four hours during the late evening to coordinate with the international offices.
