Overview

We are seeking a Lead Architect to join our growing team in India, supporting the design and delivery of US-based projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading architectural design, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with applicable US codes and standards, and delivering high-quality construction documentation. This role requires strong technical expertise, project leadership capability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and US stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the architectural design and documentation for US-based projects across various stages, including concept, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Prepare, review, and oversee architectural drawings, detailing, models, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including structural, MEP, civil, and project management teams.
  • Ensure designs comply with US building codes, standards, zoning regulations, and client requirements.
  • Guide and mentor junior architects and design team members to maintain quality and consistency in deliverables.
  • Participate in project planning, resource allocation, and schedule management to ensure timely delivery.
  • Review design intent and resolve technical and coordination issues during project development.
  • Support quality control and quality assurance processes for all architectural deliverables.
  • Collaborate with US-based teams and clients through regular meetings and coordination calls.
  • Contribute to design innovation, process improvement, and best practices within the architecture team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in architectural design and project delivery.
  • Proven experience working on US projects in an AEC / architectural services environment.
  • Strong understanding of architectural design principles, construction documentation, and detailing.
  • Familiarity with US codes, standards, and permit documentation requirements.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and BIM workflows.
  • Good understanding of multidisciplinary coordination within an AEC environment.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Should be flexible to work in the evening hours to maintain the communication with the USA teams.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in sectors such as commercial, healthcare, industrial, mission critical, pharma, or mixed-use projects.
  • Exposure to BIM standards, clash coordination, and integrated project delivery workflows.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles and LEED concepts is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in leading teams supporting international or US-based clients.
  • Licensure / registration in Architecture is an added advantage.
